Note: I have used India Ink in the past on a door I carved and it turned out great! (see second photo) sorry I tried to rotate the photo.still it shows sideways. Maybe it is the type of wood? Not sure what to do next. Beginner level speedball: Spyders, Piranhas, Smart Parts Intermediate level speedball: Proto, Smart Parts, Empire Invert Advanced speedball: Dye, Planet Eclipse, Bob Long Beginner Woodsball. This may be a stupid question, but could I have sanded it too smooth to accept a finish? Is it even possible? I sanded it down, cleaned it and applied a couple coats of India Ink letting it dry in between. Some of the common forms include glittery ink, puff inks that expand to create a raised surface, and texturized inks. Inks come in different forms, and you have to consider more than color when choosing them. You will push the ink through the mesh to create a print. It supposed to be waterproof and non toxic so I thought it would work. Most screen printing kits come with ink, paint, or pigment in different colors. I let it cure for a couple of weeks and tested it by washing it with water and dawn dishwashing soap to see how the finish holds. The ink looked uneven but I thought that it was because it was still wet. Speedball Super Black India Ink is a free flowing, non-clogging, dye free, ink that offers unexcelled lightfastness. I intended to use it for a fruit bowl, so I didn't put a clear finish on top of the ink. Unfortunately, it’s also a wet writer prone to feathering on many papers, and might be better described as dark gray than black. Additionally, it is both water and marker-safe, and resists erasing very well. Hi, I am hoping someone can tell me what went wrong, I used Speedball India Ink to refinish a wooden bowl (I purchased) sanded smooth,carved, and finished with India Ink. Higgins Black Magic Ink was the fastest drying of all of the Inks, and was dry almost immediately.
